But I do know as I do my monthly shopping (since I live in a Small town in the Oregon Gorge Territory so shop once a month in 'the city' lol) what kinds of meals I need to make.

I balance the meats and veggies (lots fresh for the first week or two and then we go to frozen unless the local stores have a good deal on something in particular.)

I couldn't cook, I don't think, though if I hadn't done the shopping...so often I just grab one of these, one of those and throw it together that I don't know how I manage to get through a month with food still in the freezer. :)

Though I'm not the gourmet that Brent is :) I do cook with love...just like you.

Here's on of my family's favorite "Quick Meals"
Frozen chicken breasts (can be microwaved, barbequed or oven baked depending on the heat.) seasoned with lemon, honey, granulated garlic and onions.

(early in the month a green salad...later on frozen broccoli with cheese)
frozen broccoli with garlic salt and smothered in Tillamook cheddar cheese then microwave it just long enough for the cheese to melt and the broccoli to be warm (I hate it..I like my broccoli without all the protein, but they LOVE it and will even eat seconds!)

Then I take some of those refrigerator biscuits (2 packages because they like them so much!) and put them in a square 8"X8" baking pan all smooshed together and sprinkle garlic salt, poppy seeds and grate either a mozarella or cheddar cheese over the top. Bake for about 10 minutes and you have chewy roll goodness.

Good luck with the cooking,
SondraAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15511155842899819113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-456008961432964649.post-60375227585424176672008-07-08T07:54:00.000-07:002008-07-08T07:54:00.000-07:00In case it helps at all, I want to share a simple ...In case it helps at all, I want to share a simple idea that took me years to learn. Granted, I live a 1/4 mile from the store, but this is how I do it. In the morning, I decide what we'll have for dinner and make certain that I have those ingredients. Then, about 1 hour before dinnertime, I force myself to make it. Um, force myself with love, of course. Really, most of the time it's fine. I even like it. But, if I don't think about it in the morning, it can be very hard to deal with it later.

I know this is very simple, but, like I said, it took me years to figure it out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
